Visa to Egypt

Egypt is extremely loyal to Russian tourists – although formally a visa to the country is required for citizens of the Russian Federation, obtaining it does not cause absolutely any difficulties – a visa is issued at the airport upon arrival and costs 25 USD. You can relax in Egyptian resorts and travel around the country for a month. An important point: you need to pay special attention to the validity of the passport – it must be at least 6 months from the end of the trip. As for Sharm el-Sheikh and South Sinai as a whole, upon arrival you can get a free visa for 15 days (you cannot leave the region in this case). According to COUNTRYAAH, Egypt is a country that starts with letter E.

Entry into the country

For citizens of Russia, the Baltic states, Ukraine, Belarus, a visa is issued upon arrival at the airport. The procedure is simple: a stamp worth 25 USD is pasted into the passport. If the child is entered in the passport, his visa is not paid. Children with their own passport pay the same 25 USD.

The validity of a tourist visa issued upon arrival is 1 month from the date of entry. No one will ask for medical insurance when entering the country, but going to Egypt without it is a step, to put it mildly, unreasonable.

Official requirements for the validity of the passport – at least 6 months from the end of the trip. In practice, tourists also enter with passports with a shorter validity period, but you should be aware that in case of refusal of entry, the authorities of the country will be right.

In accordance with Egyptian law, the fine for staying in Egypt after the expiration of the visa is approximately 22 USD (paid on departure). At the same time, persons who have overstayed their visas are not entitled to fly on charter flights from the airports of Hurghada and Sharm el-Sheikh. They can leave the country only on a regular flight from Cairo airport.

Citizens of Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Moldova will have to open a visa at the embassy in Moscow. Citizens of the first two countries need a personal appearance at the consulate to obtain a visa. Citizens of Kazakhstan need to obtain a visa at the embassy in Astana and on the day of arrival provide their passport to the guide at the hotel – for registration with the Egyptian police. Tourists who do not show their passports and do not apply for a visa at the police risk encountering problems when leaving the country.

The recommendation of the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the validity of a passport is at least 6 months from the end of the trip.
